Summary
Digital levels with an autofocus offer the possibility of automated monitoring of height changes in the vicinity of a set-up point if a rotation device is integrated for the alignment of the instrument to the barcode rods. For the rotation of the standing axis, on the one hand a motorised total station can be used, if in addition to the polar measurements to a prism the height of a target point is also to be determined by levelling, on the other hand a stand-alone rotation module can be applied. A cost-efficient measuring method results if the barcode rods can be printed on paper or a foil in the required length and quantity. To enable continuous monitoring even in the dark, LED strips can be used, which are switched on radio-based during measurement each period for rod illumination. Developments and first results produced in the Geodetic Laboratory of the UniBw Munich will be shown.
